Smurf pose sheet

I always like to play around with posing a character before I begin animating it! This allows me to feel like I can get inside it, him, (or her). As it turned out, the Smurfs are priportioned almost exactly like Micky Mouse! Go figure!

  1. I am a French fan, your work is amazing! I Love "smurf" in their eyes! I will dream of having autemps talent. You have a sublime experience could you talk a little about your work in animation? I started a tribute to Dont Bluth on a blog What I find too often forgotten today traditional work!

  2. Thank you very much for your kind words! I always love to draw, to me it is peace and reverence! Traditional animation is a unique and beautiful thing, it requires a good sense of entertainment as an actor would have, on top of a well digested ability to draw and caricature! Don Bluth was the tops of the field when I met him at Disney where we started. When he left I followed him to continue my learning. I was lucky to have become friends with Milt Kahl as well, who is of course the greatest animator that ever lived! That is not just my opinion. At Don Bluth I was lucky to be assigned the crow to animate on Secret of NIMH, and then the cat Tiger on An American Tail! Good luck with your art studies! All the best!
